Today in my physics class, my teacher was talking about buoyancy, and he said that women will float better than men because we have more fat in our skin. This boy sitting next to me started yelling, “Fatties! Fatties! Women are fat!” I told him to shut up, and he said, “It’s just a joke, stop being so offended.” I kind of surprised myself when I responded loudly, “Stop being such an asshole.” Then, he came back with, “What’sa matter? You feel fat?” He gave me the once-over and said, “You should.” Sadly, I didn’t have a good comeback for that one, so I went with “Grow up,” but I faltered and it just sounded like I was mumbling, so I think he won that one.
Seriously, what is his problem? Is he so threatened by being called out on his obviously offensive “joke” that he needs to attack me personally? My teacher is sexist as fuck, so making a scene would have just gotten me in trouble. But today started with getting up at 5:00 AM so I could make up a timed writing for AP Lit (which I bombed) and just kept going downhill from there, and the last thing I needed was some fucker making personal comments on my appearance, so basically if anyone wants to come over and make collages and cocoa with me, I have an electric blanket and cool magazines, and googly eyes, so really all you have to do is bring glue and good music.
